And We're Off!
Wow. I can't believe that I have a website. And a blog. The contrarian introvert in me resisted as long as possible, but somehow I've been dragged kicking and screaming into 2006. In 2018. Honestly, I'm kind of excited about the prospect of figuring out this whole online presence/public scholar thing. I've been told to be strategic, to have an audience in mind, to "brand" myself. Well I'm not, I don't, and the thought of "Kardashian-ing" myself makes me want to retch. For now. Anyway, I envision this blog consisting of a little philosophy, a little politics, a little pop culture, and a lot of (carefully curated) me. I've resisted online life because it seemed so narcissistic. However, I'm learning from people I respect that the digital world is just another place for intellectual exchange. I'm not sure how often I'll post, but I look forward to engaging people and ideas, and hopefully, leaving my corner of the world a better place than I found it. (Dang, that last part was sappy, but that's as saccharine as I'm ever likely to be.)
